In the heart of Clintonville, this ranch-style home was renovated into a light-filled, cohesive space designed for modern living. NJW Renovations Unlimited remodeled the living room, kitchen, primary suite, laundry room, dining room, and guest bath, creating a home that feels open, intentional, and built for how the homeowners actually live.
This project was brought to life in collaboration with CRI Designs, whose design expertise helped shape the home’s layered material selections, bold color moments, and cohesive aesthetic. Working closely together, our design-build process ensured that every detail aligned with the homeowners’ vision.
With its ranch layout and natural flow, the homeowners set out to enhance what was already there by introducing warmth, thoughtful material choices, and smart storage while maintaining the open, easy livability that defines a ranch home.
A Kitchen Remodel Designed for Everyday Living

At the center of the home, the kitchen strikes a balance between bold design choices and practical function.
Deep navy lower cabinetry grounds the space, while a white marble island countertop creates a bright focal point. Perimeter counters in a rich steel gray add subtle contrast and dimension. Large pull-out drawers with built-in organizers and partitions maximize storage, ensuring the space works just as beautifully as it looks.
Two sink stations enhance workflow, making the kitchen equally suited for daily routines and entertaining.
Just off the kitchen, a spacious walk-in pantry extends both storage and prep space. A mix of open shelving and closed cabinetry keeps essentials organized while maintaining a clean space and easily accessible appliances.

Partner Spotlight: Refreshing Touch Painting
The finishing touches throughout the home were completed in collaboration with Refreshing Touch Painting—a trusted partner we’ve worked with across many projects—helping ensure a consistent, high-quality finish throughout. Founded in 2000 and backed by decades of hands-on experience dating back to the 1980s, their team brings a level of craftsmanship that comes from years of refining their process.
From walls and ceilings to the maple trim, doors, and cabinetry, their work helped unify each space with a clean, polished look. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship played a key role in “refreshing” the home, bringing new life to every surface and elevating the overall design.
As their name suggests, “We refresh your home to make it look like new,” says Dave, the company’s owner. And in this project, that transformation is felt in every room.
Light-Filled Living with Natural Flow

The living room connects to the kitchen, reinforcing the home’s open concept design.
Large windows and sliding patio doors from APCO flood the space with natural light, highlighting the light natural wood floors and trim. A high, angled ceiling amplifies the sense of openness, while earthy tones bring warmth and comfort.
The result is a gathering space that feels expansive yet comfortable and designed for connection and everyday living.

A Primary Bathroom with Personality

The primary suite embraces bold color while maintaining a calm, refined feel.
A double-sink vanity in deep forest green anchors the space, topped with gray and white marble countertops. Matching cabinetry extends alongside the vanity, adding generous storage and a strong visual statement.
Large-format square floor tiles provide a clean, modern look for the space. In the walk-in shower, two walls feature light white-beige tile, while a third wall has small dark gray tile that continues down to the shower floor, which creates contrast and continuity. A built-in bench enhances comfort, and clear glass doors keep the space feeling open.
A pocket door leads to a private water closet, where vibrant wallpaper featuring blues, greens, and touches of orange adds an unexpected, playful moment. It’s a reminder that thoughtful design includes personality, too!
Partner Spotlight: Devoe Construction
Structural elements throughout the home were supported by Devoe Construction, led by Scott Devoe. Known for their expertise in residential framing, their team played a key role in shaping functional details such as the pocket doors and entryway transitions. Their work also helped ensure continuity throughout the home, carried through in the maple trim and interior doors.
Their work helped ensure that these architectural elements not only function smoothly, but also integrate naturally into the home’s overall layout, supporting the flow and thoughtful design seen throughout the space.

A Fresh and Inviting Guest Bath

The guest bathroom carries the home’s cohesive design feel into a lighter palette.
A natural light wood vanity with a white countertop pairs beautifully with classic white wainscoting and soft blue upper walls. Vertical white rectangular shower tiles create clean lines, complemented by small vertical beige and brown floor tiles for subtle warmth.
A Functional Laundry Room with Character
Even the laundry room was designed with intention.
Off-white walls create a clean backdrop, while the main wall (housing the washer, dryer, sink, and cabinetry) is finished in off-white wood paneling, adding texture.
The homeowners wanted the everyday functionality of a farmhouse sink, balanced with cabinetry above and below for smart, built-in storage that doesn’t compromise style. Underfoot, dark gray and off-white geometric tile introduces a playful, graphic element that elevates the room beyond purely utilitarian.
A Cohesive Transformation
Throughout this Clintonville home, thoughtful material selections and intentional contrasts create balance: bold cabinetry paired with natural maple wood tones, graphic tile layered with soft neutrals, and expressive moments woven into otherwise serene spaces.
This whole-home remodel reflects what NJW Renovations Unlimited does best: design-build remodeling that blends beauty, function, and high-quality craftsmanship to create spaces that feel elevated and livable.
