At NJW Renovations Unlimited, we’re committed to craftsmanship, innovation, and creating well-designed spaces that elevate everyday living. That’s why being recognized by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) is such an honor. The NARI Remodeler of the Year™ (RotY) Awards represent the highest level of achievement in remodeling, judged by leading experts for functionality, problem-solving, creativity, aesthetics, and craftsmanship.

This year, we are proud to announce that NJW Renovations Unlimited earned six Remodeler of the Year awards, a testament to our team’s expertise, commitment to excellence, and the trust our clients place in us.

As we celebrate this achievement, we’re thrilled to take you inside the projects that made it all possible. Each award represents a unique homeowner, a design challenge, and a space transformed with care and collaboration.

1. Historical Renovation $250,000 & Over

Historical renovation RotY awards

For this project, the homeowner wanted to redesign their second floor to better fit their lifestyle, all while preserving the historic charm of their 1920s home. They added modern conveniences like:

  • A laundry room
  • A new primary bath
  • Improved storage
  • Flexible creative space.

The project also included a second-story addition that naturally extended the existing structure.

This renovation came with its share of challenges that tested both creativity and precision. A recently built pergola stood in the way of the second-floor addition, so it had to be carefully dismantled and later reassembled with only minor touchups. Matching the exterior siding and trim to the historic 1920s home required custom pieces and meticulous installation to maintain the home’s original charm. Meanwhile, the team had to address concerns about potential mold, ensuring wall finishes captured the look and feel of traditional plaster. All of this was accomplished while carving out a functional crafting space and reusing as many existing finishes as possible proving that thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship can overcome even the toughest obstacles.

2. Entire Home $500,000-$750,000

Entire Home RotY awards

With this Dublin whole home renovation, the homeowner wanted a California Casual style with clean, simple designs and updated, functional spaces including:

  • A modern kitchen
  • A mudroom
  • Expanded laundry

Key goals of the project were to unify the main floor, refresh finishes, and repurpose existing cabinetry to support sustainability. Challenges we addressed included raising the sunken living room floor, widening the rear corridor, and incorporating aging-in-place features. The result is a cohesive, stylish, and practical home that balances elegance with the option to age in place. Explore more of this house renovation here.

Residential Landscape Roty Awards

For this project, the homeowners wanted a functional and inviting outdoor space with:

  • Improved water management
  • Easier kitchen-to-patio access
  • Additional seating areas
  • Enhanced privacy

We addressed the water issues with retaining walls, linear drains, regrading, and new gutters, while replacing worn concrete with level stone pavers and creating multiple seating areas. A new privacy fence, double-wide gate, and shed added both security and storage, and landscaping updates completed the refreshed, usable backyard. The result is an outdoor space that’s practical, beautiful, and perfect for entertaining.

4. Interior Renovation Under $100,000

Interior renovation RotY awards

These homeowners were dreaming of a relaxing spa retreat adjacent to their primary bathroom, featuring a sauna and a plunge tub. We transformed an underutilized hallway closet into a functional and serene spa space, carefully carrying finishes, tile, and trim from the primary bath to ensure visual continuity. The design balances comfort and style and created a soothing oasis for unwinding. The result is an extension of the primary suite that combines wellness and elegance. Learn more about this project here.
