In-Law Suite

More than ever, families are embracing the opportunity to live together and strengthen their bonds. At NJW Renovations Unlimited, we specialize in helping clients create functional and comfortable spaces that accommodate extended family members.

We have been honored to complete heartwarming projects for multiple families who wanted to welcome their family into their homes. The addition of an in-law suite not only provides a private and comfortable space for all, but it also sets the stage to strengthen family connection.

Designing In-Law Suites for Accessibility

A key priority for this project was to create a space accessible for the wheelchair-bound client. We incorporated various design elements to ensure his comfort and independence, including:

  • Barrier-free transitions: Create seamless transitions between flooring materials
    to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Accessible countertops and sinks: Install countertops and sinks at a height that is comfortable for people in wheelchairs.
  • Custom cabinetry: Customize cabinetry to meet the client’s specific needs and preferences.
  • Universal design: Consider a universal design approach that benefits people of all ages and abilities, making your space more inclusive.
  • Grab Bars: Install sturdy grab bars near the toilet, shower, and bathtub to provide support and stability.
  • Roll-In Showers: We suggest a roll-in shower with a curbless design for easier access.
